The Clean & Green Udvada Trust (CGU) is set to unveil its latest environmentally-friendly initiative on 26th January 2025, marking a significant step toward sustainable energy solutions. The project involves the installation of three solar panels valued at ₹6.30 lakh and a microgrid worth ₹25 lakh, generously sponsored by Tata Power.

An Event to Remember

The unveiling ceremony will take place at Jhandha Chowk, with Dasturji Tehemton Burjorji Mirza presiding as the Chief Guest. The distinguished Vada Dasturji symbolically launched all four verticals by breaking a coconut, signifying the beginning of a transformative phase for Udvada’s sustainability.

The Trust’s co-founders and trustees, Zarine Bharda and Filly Bapuna, were also present to commemorate this milestone. Filly Bapuna delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the Trust’s relentless dedication to environmental preservation and sustainable progress.

Powering a Greener Tomorrow

These solar panels, designed to have a lifespan of 25 years, will significantly benefit the Gram Panchayat by ensuring uninterrupted street lighting and will also support the village’s composting machine, thereby reinforcing the community’s commitment to a greener, more eco-conscious future.

Acknowledging Key Contributors

The CGU Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to Sarpanch Dharmendra Patel and Deputy Sarpanch Sarosh Irani, who expressed appreciation for the Trust’s annual contribution of ₹9 lakh toward waste management through a private contractor. They further encouraged CGU to expand solar installations to enhance community benefits.

A special acknowledgment was also given to Mr. Dinyar Edulji of Concast (India) Private Limited, whose unwavering support was instrumental in bringing this visionary project to life.

A Model for Future Generations

As part of its long-term vision, CGU is now seeking donors to sponsor a composting machine, which will further strengthen Udvada’s sustainability initiatives. Contributions toward this noble endeavor are warmly welcomed, and interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to the undersigned.

Conclusion

This landmark event reaffirms the Trust’s mission to establish Udvada as a model eco-friendly community, inspiring collective action and fostering hope for a sustainable future. Through innovative solutions and community-driven initiatives, CGU continues to pave the way for cleaner energy, reduced environmental impact, and a more sustainable tomorrow for Udvada and beyond.

You all may recall that the Dhanjishaw & Manijeh Gamir Charitable Trust had organized a Religious Workshop for the benefit of Parsi / Irani Zarthostis of Ahmedabad and nearby areas. The first such Workshop, anchored by Ervad Marzban Hathiram on the subject “Sudreh, Kushti and the Importance of the Navjote Ceremony” was held on 10th November, 2019 and was a resounding success. Unfortunately, with the onset of Covid and various other constraints, we were unable to organize any other Religious Workshops thereafter, till this day.

Khorshedbanoo Ratanshaw Contractor Charitable Trust is happy to inform you that the second Religious Workshop has been organized in September this year. It will once again be anchored by Ervad Marzban Hathiram. The topic this time is “Dokhmenishini and the Importance of First 4 days’ After death Prayers”. We heartily welcome you all to attend this workshop in large numbers. The details are as follows:-

  2. As it is not a “Meet and Eat Function”, we expect that everyone takes it seriously and does not turn up just for the free lunch!

  3. The aim is not just to lecture the participants but to encourage an open and inter-active exchange between the participants, with Ervad Marzban Hathiram (a renowned Religious Scholar) anchoring the discussions.
